New York’s Mayor Bloomberg Dressed Up Like Spider-Man And Was Dangled Over A Stage This Weekend
Saturday night was the Inner Circle charity dinner, an annual roast of New York’s journalists and politicians in City Hall. During the event, Mayor Michael Bloomberg got in on the fun by performing in a full-scale musical production in which he sang Abba parodies (“Mayor Mia!”), told jokes, and dressed in costumes both disturbing and more than disturbing. The peak of the night, however, seems to have been when Bloomberg was dressed up as Spider-Man and dangled over the stage as a parody of the musical Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark.
Huh, I wonder if Glenn Beck was there? If so, Bloomberg could get a full endorsement.
In all seriousness, it seems like a fun event. And I’m sure the charitable organizations couldn’t be happier with Bloomberg’s game attitude. Of course, talk show monologue writers are probably pretty happy about it too.
