Piers Morgan Has No ‘Regrets,’ Is ‘Ready to Move On’ from Primetime

There have been plenty of analogies made between Piers Morgan and Alec Baldwin over the past week, but there is one major difference between the two men: Morgan “loves” TMZ. At least that’s what the soon-to-be-former CNN prime time host told one of that website’s correspondents when he approached him on the streets of New York Thursday night.
Morgan said he has no “regrets” about his time spent as host of Piers Morgan Live, especially when it comes to his stance on the Second Amendment. “I come from a country where we don’t have guns,” he said. “I feel strongly about it, but I understand that not every American shares my view, so I’m ready to move on.”

“I want to do big interviews,” Morgan continued, saying he did not get the chance to do “enough” of those over the last few years. “I want to do less shows, more big interviews,” he said, turning CNN president Jeff Zucker’s stated desire to produce “more shows and less newscasts” on its head.
CNN has said that it will be keeping Morgan on the network to conduct interviews for specials and other one-off events. They have not yet announced who will be replacing him during the 9pm prime time hour.
