R. Kelly’s Girlfriends Accuse Their Parents of Trying to ‘Blackmail’ Singer With ‘Sexual Videos’
Amid R. Kelly‘s sexual abuse trial, his two girlfriends Joycelyn Savage and Azriel Clary appeared on CBS This Morning today and claimed their parents tried to sexually “blackmail” the singer.
“I wouldn’t look [my father] in the eye because he’s a liar, he’s a manipulative liar. That is a lie, I was not having sex [R. Kelly] at 17,” Clary t0ld CBS anchor Gayle King. “When I first met [R. Kelly], my parents told me to lie about my age, so he thought I was 17. They said because if they ever have to blackmail him, what they’re trying to do now, they can use it against him, which is exactly what they’re doing.”
Savage, who was not in contact with her family for over two years while with R. Kelly, then told King she feels the same way.
“Everything that she’s saying is true, our parents are basically trying to get money and scam because they didn’t agree with what happened with music or wherever we could be,” she said. “They’re just upset.”
Clary went on to say that her father is the real “manipulator” and accused bother her parents of sending “threats” release all of their “naked pictures all of the world… if he doesn’t send $20,000 to this bank account.”
The interview was aired a day after King interviewed R. Kelly on CBS, during which he exploded with rage at the accusations. The singer also claimed that the parents of the girls he was involved with were essentially selling their children to him.
“What kind of father, what kind of mother, would sell their daughter to a man?” R. Kelly said. “How come it was OK for me to see them until they wasn’t getting no money from me? If I was gonna take my 19-year-old daughter to [a concert of] a 49-year-old icon, celebrity, whatever, I’m not gonna put her on the stage and leave her.”
