Rudy Giuliani Officiates Wedding Of NY Mediaites Jodi Applegate And Michael Kay

Former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani found some time away from mulling over whether he’ll run again in 2012 to officiate the wedding between WPIX anchor Jodi Applegate and Yankees broadcaster Michael Kay this weekend at the famed Plaza Hotel in New York City.

The wedding had pretty much everything you could hope for, including Yankees manager Joe Girardi, Yankees co-owner Hal Steinbrenner, Brian Williams, four dress changes for Applegate, and giant mermaid ice sculptures… because, you know, why the hell not?

And to think that all it took for these lovebirds to get together was the media equivalent of annoying your friends by talking incessantly about your new crush:

Kay was so taken with the Applegate, that he couldn’t stop talking about her on his radio show the following day. Applegate, who was alerted by a producer, called the station to tease Kay about his boyish crush. After a whirlwind romance the two decided it was time to make it official.
