Santorum: The World Will Suffer If Islam Doesn’t Fix ‘The Cancer Within’

Rick Santorum told Bret Baier in an interview aired on Fox today that the Middle East “meltdown” is the biggest threat the U.S. faces, and it will continue “if we do not confront the fundamental issue, which is the cancer within Islam.”

Santorum said, “If Islam does not clean up its own house, then it’s gonna be the world that’s gonna suffer. And Islam will suffer.”

Santorum clarified he’s not trying to call for a “holy war” and did note that a lot of the Muslim world “is also being destroyed by these radicals.” But he did say (in a shot just as much at the White House as it was at Islam) everyone needs to be “accurate” about “the nature of the threat.”
