Soundbite: How To Describe The Best TV Doctor?

“A couple months ago I thought I had the perfect line to describe Sanjay. I was going to call him the Tiger Woods of TV doctors. But I’m going to stay away from that right now.”

— CNN/U.S. President Jon Klein complimenting his network’s Chief Medical Correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta at Gupta’s book party Monday night in New York City.

Gupta’s new book, “Cheating Death,” was released in October, but the celebration took place this week. In the crowd was a mix of talent and executives from CNN and other networks – including a large contingent of TV doctors. Pictured, from left to right, are: Dr. Manny Alvarez of Fox News, Dr. Mehmet Oz, Deepak Chopra, Gupta, Dr. Nancy Snyderman of MSNBC and Dr. Richard Besser of ABC.

“If something happens you’re going to be well taken care of,” joked Gupta in his speech.
