Suge Knight Collapses in Court After Hearing $25 Million Bail
Hip-hop mogul Suge Knight, who is pleading not guilty to charges that he killed a man during a hit-and-run in January, collapsed in court on Friday after a judge set his bail at $25 million.
Knight reportedly was unconscious at one point and fell over a chair before two officers rushed toward him.
According to the 49-year-old producer’s attorney, that amount of money is most likely higher than Knight can reasonably post. Attorney Matthew Fletcher told a CNN affiliate that Knight hit his head on the chair, possibly as a result of stress and poor treatment for diabetes.
He is currently charged with one count each of murder and attempted murder, as well as two counts of hit-and-run. Prosecutors said he also may have committed a “serious and violent felony” while free on bail. If convicted, Knight would face life in prison.
