Trump Lawyer Flips Out on CBSN Anchor in Post-Trial Interview, Accuses Her of Being ‘Bloodthirsty for Ratings’

Trump lawyer Michael van der Veen flipped out on CBSN anchor Lana Zak on Saturday after the trial ended.

As Zak walked through particulars of the trial with van der Veen, the Trump defense attorney said, “The prosecutors in this case doctored evidence… it was absolutely shocking.”

Zak addressed what specifically he was talking about:

“Let’s follow up with a point that you’re making right now about the House managers, as you say, doctoring evidence… To be clear for our viewers, what you’re talking about now is a check mark that’s a verification on Twitter that did not exist on that particular tweet, a 2020 that should have actually read 2021, and the selective editing, you say, of the tapes. Is that the doctored evidence of which you’re speaking?”

“Wait wait wait wait wait,” van der Veen said. “That’s not enough for you?”

He started to go on a tear as Zak said, “I’m not a juror in this trial, what I am trying to make clear for our viewers is what you’re referring to, because not everybody has been following…”

“It’s not okay to doctor a little bit of evidence!” van der Veen exclaimed.

“I have not said it okay,” Zak responded. “I want to be clear for our viewers about what exactly you’re saying.”

Van der Veen immediately started going on a tirade about the press, saying, “The media has to start telling the right story in this country. The media is trying to divide this country.”

He accused Zak of being “bloodthirsty for ratings” and of believing “it’s all right just to doctor a little bit of evidence.”

He continued to rail against the media, saying “you guys have to stop and start reporting more like PBS does rather than a TV news show that doesn’t have any journalistic integrity at all.”

As van der Veen kept going, Zak again reiterated she was trying to give context for viewers “to be clear about what you are speaking about.”

Van der Veen continued accusing her of a “slanted question” and ripped off his mic as she wrapped the interview.
