WATCH: Baltimore Protesters Swarm and Destroy Police Cruiser

As protests in Baltimore over the death of Freddie Gray in police custody have been escalating on Monday, a group of demonstrators swarmed a police car.

A group of at least 30 protesters surrounded the vehicle, repeatedly smashing it and breaking windows. Others jumped on top of it. It was unclear if there was an officer in the car.

Protests became increasingly violent over the weekend. A reporter was attacked and robbed by a group of demonstrators, while a photojournalist was roughed up and knocked to the ground by a group of police officers. On Sunday, Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD) defended the protesters, calling relations with police the “civil rights cause of this generation.”
