Watch First Time SNL Host Elton John’s Attempt At Stand-Up Comedy

Elton John is hosting “SNL” for the first time (though he has appeared as a musical guest before), and it seemed like the singer was a wee bit nervous during his opening monologue. Understandable, because they forgot to give him any funny jokes!

John was reduced to zingers about his new son “rejecting the breast” and lots of repetitive parental shop talk about changing diapers, bottle feeding and the like. It was great material for a dinner party, but not exactly worthy of the opening monologue for a sketch comedy show. Given that Elton John is a global icon and all-around awesome dude, we’re inclined to blame “SNL” for the fail. He’s a knight, for heaven’s sake! Show some respect.
