Late night comic Jimmy Kimmel blasted reality TV star turned gubernatorial candidate Caitlyn Jenner over her recent remarks about homeless people, asking “Is it transphobic to call a trans person an ignorant asshole?”

During his monologue on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the host took aim at Jenner for remarks she made this week on Wednesday night’s edition of Hannity.

Jenner made the case for her candidacy by telling host Sean Hannity that “My friends are leaving California. My hangar, the guy right across, he was packing up his hangar and I said, where are you going? And he says, ‘I’m moving to Sedona, Arizona, I can’t take it here anymore. I can’t walk down the streets and see the homeless’.”

“I don’t want to leave, okay? Either I stay and fight, or I get out of here,” Jenner added.

Kimmel related the story, and played the clip.

“Ah, homeless people, you can’t walk around ’em, you can’t fly over them!” Kimmel cracked, then added “Is it transphobic to call a trans person an ignorant asshole?”

“Or does calling that trans person an ignorant asshole — even though she happens to be a trans person — show that we don’t discriminate against ignorant a-holes, no matter their gender orientation?” Kimmel asked. “It’s a tough one. I don’t know. I guess we’ll let the internet decide tomorrow.”

Jenner’s remarks went viral on Twitter, and sparked widespread mockery.
