vlcsnap-2016-02-11-09h47m54s481The New York Police Department is searching for a man who pointed a gun at a local news reporter during a live report Wednesday.

WNBC reporter Michael George was reporting on the manslaughter trial of NYPD officer Peter Liang in front of a Brooklyn courthouse, when a man off-screen pointed what appears to be a gun at the reporter and says “Give me all your money! Give me all your money!” Smiling, he walked into frame and waved the gun around.

The man is now wanted for menacing. Those who recognize him are encouraged to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477), or  1-888-57-PISTA (74782) for Spanish.

UPDATE – 3:53 P.M. EST New York Daily News reported that the NYPD have taken a suspect in for questioning over the incident. They say that detectives were led to the man after Crime Stopper tipsters reported his first name and general address.

Though he appeared to be carrying a gun when he stepped in front of the camera, police sources say that it might have actually been a gag lighter shaped like a pistol. The investigation is still ongoing at the moment, and no charges have been filed against the suspect yet.
