WATCH: Pompeo Responds to NY Times Rosenstein Bombshell
In an interview set to air on Sunday on Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace, anchor Chris Wallace asked Secretary of State Mike Pompeo about the New York Times bombshell claiming Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein considered secretly recording President Donald Trump and recruiting cabinet members to invoke the 25th Amendment.
Rosenstein has issued two statements disputing the Times report.
Responding to a question about the explosive Times claims, Pompeo said this in the preview clip: “Chris, I’m not going to comment on that in any way, other than to say this: I’ve been pretty clear since my beginning of service here in this administration, if you can’t be on the team, if you’re not supporting this mission, then maybe you just ought to find something else to do. I’ve told that to my senior colleagues, I’ve told it to junior folks at the CIA, and the State Department; we need everyone who’s engaged in helping achieve President Trump’s mission. And I hope that everyone in every agency: DOJ, FBI, State Department is on that mission.”
“And?” Wallace pressed.
“And if you’re not, if you’re not, you should take this time to go do something more productive,” Pompeo added.
“I assume that talking about wiring the President, talking about the 25th amendment is not being on the team,” Wallace pressed further.
“Not remotely,” Pompeo replied.
The full interview will air on Fox News Sunday morning
