Wheel of Fortune Apologizes for Poorly Timed Paul Walker-Related Puzzle

Just two days after actor Paul Walker died in a fiery car crash north of Los Angeles, Wheel of Fortune aired a puzzle to which the answer was his famous movie franchise: The Fast and the Furious.

The episode, which the show says was taped far in advance, aired in about 200 local markets Monday evening. In New York and Los Angeles, the clip features an on-screen disclaimer that read, “This episode was taped a few weeks ago, prior to the tragic passing of ‘The Fast and the Furious’ actor Paul Walker.”

The show, along with its host, Pat Sajak, both issued apologies on Twitter for the “unfortunate” “timing” of the clue:
