WSJ Editor Says Prince Philip is Cancel Culture Warrior ‘America Needs Right Now’ During Fox News Funeral Coverage

Wall Street Journal editor at large Gerard Baker eulogized the late Prince Philip on Fox News calling him “what America needs right now” for his ability to be shirk the consequences of cancel culture.

“Prince Philip was good at puncturing the world of political correctness,” he continued.

Remarking on the Prince’s status Baker said, “He couldn’t be canceled. Prince Philip, in an era of cancel culture you can’t cancel the concert of the monarch. So he could say things and good heavens, we need someone who is able to say some things that frankly these days are unsayable.”

Prince Philip has come under fire multiple times during the course of his reign for saying racist and sexist comments.

Some of the highlights of these gaffes include racist comments like telling a group of foreign exchange students in China, “If you stay here much longer you will all be slitty-eyed.”

He also asked a group of Aboriginal Australians “Do you still throw spears at each other?” Then there was the time he told the President of Nigeria “You look like you’re ready for bed!” while the President was wearing traditional robes.

While Baker did not address these comments specifically, he described the comments Prince Philip received criticism for as “The kind of things we’re talking about” such as, “the greatness of the civilization,” that Britain and America represent.
