Yikes: Stage Floor Collapses Beneath 250 High School Students

A performance by 250 students from Rosary High School in Fullerton, Calif., came to a grinding halt on Saturday night when the stage collapsed. Two dozen students received minor injuries, according to local police.

As several hundred freshmen and sophomores from the all-girls school jumped and danced on a stage during an annual fundraiser show, the front section disappeared below, causing dozens of students to fall between 10 and 15 feet.

24 girls were transported to the hospital, and according to police, “we might have a few broken bones.”

The girls were using the stage at Servite High School. Investigations into why the wood stage broke are expected to take several weeks.
