Zach Galifianakis’ Hilarious SNL Monologue: Beards, Braille, Piano, And Punchlines
Zach Galifianakis brought his signature dry humor and piano playing to SNL this week, with a hilarious opening monologue full of his goofy one-liners and absurdist routines.
As anyone familiar with Galifianakis’ stand-up routine, much of his humor involves terse one-liners followed by a one-word punchline. Some highlights: “I was once urinated on in the parking lot of a Cracker Barrel. Craigslist,” and, delivered while playing his trademark light piano accompaniment: “Here’s something you’ll never see in braille: If you see something, say something.”
Concluding his monologue, Galifianakis did another one of his routines: the “character I’ve been working on.” This one was “the guy who reaches into his pocket and thinks anything is a cell phone.” In this case, the mistaken cell phone was a box of Altoid mints.
