Fox Weatherman Delights Anchor By Making Snow Angel Live on Air: ‘I Can Do One Right Now!’
Fox News anchor Julie Banderas squealed with delight when meteorologist Mike Seidel took her up on her request for a snow angel in nearly a foot-and-a-half of fresh flakes.
Seidel reported Friday from a blizzard in upstate New York, where he used a yard stick to show that 16-inches had fallen in about 10 hours.
Banderas, who was filling in for Harris Faulkner on Friday, exclaimed, “I know most people look at a live cam like this and say, ‘Oh, dear God, that looks awful.’ That looks like heaven to me! Are you enjoying it or are you miserable?” she asked Seidel.
“Julie, you’re on my team, buddy, this is the best! Yes, yes! Adrenaline!” Seidel declared. “Lake effect is the best because you get so many inches per hour. And, at 28 degrees, it’s fluffy!”
Seidel warned drivers traveling on I-90 between Buffalo and Cleveland to drive around the storm, which was expected to last until 7 p.m. Monday.
“So, Julie, hop in an Uber, come on up and we’ll play in the snow this afternoon and all weekend,” Seidel said.
“God, I wish!” Banderas exclaimed. “If I had more time, I would actually beg you to do a snow angel — live on TV.”
Seidel accepted the challenge.
“I can do one right now. Here we go!”
With that, Seidel tipped backward and sank into the snow bank.
“Oh, I love it!” Banderas squealed. “You are amazing!”
She added, “Thank you so much, dry off, and I hope you’re wearing waterproof clothing!”
The National Weather Service called the storm an “Arctic outbreak,” reporting, “A prolonged lake effect snow event will bury some areas east of both Lakes Erie and Ontario with several feet of snow today through early next week. There will be localized areas that will be paralyzed from the lake snow.”
