BBC Reporter Shares Stunning Footage of Gaza City Left in Ruins: ‘It’s Like an Earthquake’

Palestinian BBC reporter Rushdi Abualouf captured the impact of Israel’s counteroffensive against Hamas, showing what was left of Gaza City after the region’s bombardment.

The death toll in Israel has exceeded 1,600 as the country faces its fourth day of war with Hamas since the terror group’s slaughter and kidnapping of civilians. Both sides have launched missiles at each other as the war continues on multiple fronts, though Israel’s attack on Hamas targets has led to the Gaza Strip getting hammered with airstrikes.

As Israel attempts to cope with the horrific loss of life from the war, the bombing has leveled a significant portion of Gaza City. Abualouf filmed himself driving through the city’s southern neighborhood, and the apocalyptic scene was eerily quiet as he passed one ruined building and pile of wreckage after another.

“It’s like an earthquake,” Abualouf posted on X, adding that “the scale of destruction is staggering.”
