Secret Service Says Trump Is Safe, Active Investigation Into Attack Ongoing

Former President Donald Trump is safe and “protective measures” are in place around him following an attack at a Saturday rally in Pennsylvania, said a spokesman for the U.S. Secret Service.
“This is now an active Secret Service investigation and further information will be released when available,” read the statement. Trump could be seen with blood on his face as what sounded like gunshots interrupted his rally before he was rushed off the stage.
An incident occurred the evening of July 13 at a Trump rally in Pennsylvania. The Secret Service has implemented protective measures and the former President is safe. This is now an active Secret Service investigation and further information will be released when available.

Trump spokesperson Steven Cheung added, “President Trump thanks law enforcement and first responders for their quick action during this heinous act. He is fine and is being checked out at a local medical facility. More details will follow.”
Butler County District Attorney Richard Goldfinger told a local Pennsylvania outlet that “one person is believed to be dead,” presumably the shooter, reported Reuters,, which added:
The venue was abandoned with chairs knocked over and yellow police tape around the stage. A helicopter flew above and law enforcement officers walked through the area, the video feed showed. Armed law enforcement officers were also seen on a roof near the stage where Trump was standing.
