Former Rep. George Santos (R-NY) announced on Twitter/X on Monday that he’s bringing back a flashy figure from his past: his drag persona Kitara Ravache!
Why? Money, of course!
After raising $0 in a failed bid to take back his congressional seat in New York, Santos is turning back to Kitara (and Cameo) to raise money that he claimed would go to charity:
Y’all weren’t ready for this drop?
I’ve decided to bring Kitara out of the closet after 18 years!🤣🤣🤣
for a limited time & with 20% of the proceeds going to @Tunnel2Towers & @TheFellowship

Santos stated in his announcement that 20 percent of the proceeds would go to Tunnel2Towers and the pro-Israel organization The Fellowship. And that would be great, however, Santos has not always been honest about the money he raises for charities actually going to those charities.
One thing Santos has sometimes been (kind of) honest about — after initially being dishonest — is his past dalliances in drag. Soon after he took office in January 2023, it was revealed that Santos had performed under the drag name “Kitara Ravache” in Brazil. During Santos’ Kitara Era, which was around 2008, he was also going by the name Anthony Devolder. While he first denied this story, he then admitted, “I was young, and I had fun at a festival. Sue me for having a life.”
This was just one of several lies that Santos told before and while he was an elected member of Congress, which led to him becoming the sixth congressman to be expelled from the House of Representatives.
And now, Kitara Ravache is back, fully acknowledged, and “out of the closet,” according to Santos! If you want to find out if Santos is just lying again and have some money to burn (since there’s no way of knowing where your money is actually going to go), you can book a chat with Kitara on Cameo.
