Reporter Roasts Trump On Hot Mic Seconds After Remarks Outside Fraud Trial Court
A reporter roasted former President Donald Trump on a hot mic seconds after Trump commented on the Israel-Hamas war as he arrived at the courtroom where his fraud trial is being held.
On Wednesday morning, Trump showed up for a second straight day for his trial in the fraud case brought by New York Attorney General Letitia James and presided over by Judge Arthur Engoron. Trump was also in court Tuesday for the continuation of the fraud trial, during which he took the occasional opportunity to rant to reporters about the case.
Trump was immediately peppered with shouted questions from reporters who asked about the bombing of a Gaza hospital and the failed election to try and install Rep. Jim Jordan as speaker of the House.
The Israel question caught Trump’s ear, so he stopped and gave a brief answer in which he condemned the bombing and attacked Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu:
REPORTER 1: Mr. President! Do you have a reaction to the hospital blast in Gaza?
DONALD TRUMP: It’s a terrible thing. It’s a shame. We’ve got to get it working over there. This should have never happened. The attack on Israel should have never happened, and it wouldn’t have happened if they had a different president. I can tell you that. Thank you.
REPORTER 2: Do you have any reaction to Jordan losing on the first ballot?
After Trump entered the courtroom, a reporter could be heard on a hot mic roasting Trump’s remarks:
REPORTER 3: Boy, that was the most unanimated short speech I think (inaudible) an insult… That was the most unanimated (inaudible)
A reporter also criticized another reporter on a hot mic on Tuesday outside the courtroom for asking Trump a leading question suggesting that President Joe Biden’s trip to Israel is purely political. It’s unclear if it was the same reporter.
