SHOCK POLL: Trump Squanders Nearly All of His 18-Point Lead in Iowa — A State He Won Big in 2016 and 2020

A shocking poll Sunday revealed that a state former President Donald Trump likely considered safe now seems to be very much in play.
According to a survey in Sunday’s Des Moines Register from renowned pollster Ann Selzer, Trump leads Vice President Kamala Harris by just 4 points in the state, 47-43. Notably, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is still drawing 6 percent in the poll, despite withdrawing from the race. (He will remain on the ballot in the state, despite ending his campaign.)
Back in June, when President Joe Biden was still in the race, Trump had a commanding 18-point lead, according to the same poll. The former president held a massive 50-32 lead over his successor — with RFK Jr. drawing 9 percent in that survey.
The new poll can only be considered a warning sign for the Trump campaign — given the former president won the state by strong margins in both 2016 and 2020. Trump defeated Hillary Clinton in Iowa by 9.5 points in 2016, and Biden by 9.2 points in 2020.
The Selzer poll highlighted a dramatic divide between men and women’s preferences in the race. The poll found men support Trump by a 59-32 margin, while women are breaking for Harris 53-36.
