Trump Rages He Totally Wanted To Testify At Fraud Trial — Absurdly Claims 'GAG ORDER' Prevented Him

Former President Donald Trump raged in a social media post that he wanted to testify at his fraud trial, but absurdly claimed a narrow gag order prevented him from doing so.

Judge Engoron’s gag order prohibiting Trump from attacking the court’s staff — which was prompted by a Trump Truth Social post in which he attacked the judge’s principal law clerk — has already cost Trump $15,000.00 in fines and a threat of imprisonment from the judge.

But that order was stayed pending an appeal — one which was resolved in Engoron’s favor two weeks ago when his gag order was reinstated.

Trump was in court once again last week for the trial in the fraud case brought by New York Attorney General Letitia James and presided over by Judge Arthur Engoron, where reporters peppered him with questions.

But as CNN legal analyst Norm Eisen observed, even in his courthouse rants, Trump was “brought to heel” by the gag order. And shortly thereafter, Trump announced his planned testimony in his own defense on Monday was not going to happen.

On Tuesday morning, Trump posted a new rant lashing out at the judge and attorney general in the fraud trial against him:

I wanted to testify on Monday, despite the fact that I already testified successfully, answering all questions having to do with the Fake, No Victims, No Jury lawsuit, thrown at me by the Corrupt Racist A.G., Letitia James, and presided over by a Trump hating judge who suffers from a massive case of Trump Derangement Syndrome, and is a puppet for the CROOKED A.G. Anyway, the Judge, Arthur Engoron, put a GAG ORDER on me, even when I testify, totally taking away my constitutional right to defend myself. We are appealing, but how would you like to be a witness and not be allowed free snd honest speech. THE TRIAL IS RIGGED. I DID NOTHING WRONG!!!

But the gag order does nothing to prevent Trump from testifying in court, and only bars him from attacking court staffers — which he continued to do frequently during the time the order was on hold pending appeal.
