ABC Compiles List Of Journalists Who Have Been Threatened And/Or Detained In Egypt

ABC has put together a list of all the journalists – American and otherwise – who have faced intimidation, threats or detainment while covering the ongoing protests in Egypt. The list, on ABC World News’ Tumblr, is updated as additional news trickles in.

So far, the list mentions CNN reporter Hala Gorani‘s tense run-in with protesters, Anderson Cooper‘s violent altercation, and Katie Couric‘s harassment.

And it gets even more harrowing:

The Greek daily newspaper Kathimerini said one of its reporters, Petros Papaconstantinou, was beaten by protesters in Cairo’s Tahrir Square. Papaconstantinou was clubbed in the head with a baton and stabbed in the foot, either with a knife or a screwdriver.

The list also mentions that at least one blogger has faced arrest, although it is “unclear by whom.”
