Bomb-shell Beauty Queen: Miss Utah Contestant Arrested For Throwing What?

This year’s Miss Utah infamously bombed on stage while trying to answer a question about equal pay for women at the annual Miss USA pageant. But now, one potential Miss Utah contestant is accused of throwing actual bombs at suburban Salt Lake City homes. According to CBS affiliate KUTV, 18-year-old Kendra Gill was arrested along with three friends over the weekend for building and deploying the improvised explosive devices.
No injuries were reported, but Fire Authority Captain Clint Mecham told KUTV, “This goes well beyond a teenage prank.” Of the chemicals used, he added “They’re very caustic, very nasty. So they can cause injury to somebody just if the chemicals get on somebody, much less the fragmentation of the shrapnel damage that can be caused. They can very easily cause serious harm or even death.”
Gill was crowned as Miss Riverton back in June but now her presence in the upcoming Miss Utah pageant appears to be very much in jeopardy. She is pictured below, center, wearing her Miss Riverton crown, via South Valley Journal.
