Carol Costello Spars With Gun Activist Who Wants More Guns, Fewer Drinks at Bars

 

CostelloPrattCNN’s Carol Costello sparred with gun rights advocate Larry Pratt Monday morning, as he asserted that bars would be safer if everyone had a gun; of course bars would have to serve fewer drinks, he said.

Pratt, the Executive Director of Gun Owners of America, asserted that “gun-free zones” are the real danger, and the Pulse nightclub in Orlando should have had more than just the one armed security guard.

Costello gently reminded Pratt that Pulse was a place where alcohol was served and it was perhaps unsafe to encourage people to come to a bar packing heat.

“Control the amount of booze you sell them, but don’t make them sitting ducks,” Pratt said.

“In a bar?” Costello asked.

“In a bar, yes,” Pratt said, adding sardonically, “Yes, it might hurt business. You don’t think a mass murder hurts business? That’s what gun-free zones do!
