Comic-Con’s Zombie Walk Definitely Isn’t Happening Following 2014 Accident

Last year, a deaf driver drove through a crowd of zombie cosplayers at the San Diego Comic-Con, seriously injuring a 64-year-old woman. Pending litigation has since called the event into question, leaving many Comic-Con attendees and cosplayers wondering whether or not it would happen at this year’s convention.

According Deadline, a definite answer has finally been given: no. Organizers took to the group’s Facebook page to address whether or not the walk would happen, saying:

For everyone inquiring about whether there is a walk this year, the simple answer is no, there will not be a walk this year. The event is on indefinite hiatus due to legal matters stemming from the vehicular incident following last year’s walk

En lieu of the once-annual event, organizers said those wishing to gather together and cosplay in character could meet at an alternative event at Children’s Park on Saturday at 5 p.m.
