David Hogg Rips Santorum For ‘CPR’ Comment: CPR Won’t Help ‘If You Take a Bullet From an AR-15’

Rick Santorum — former Senator from Pennsylvania and current CNN contributor — made some widely denounced remarks Sunday on State of the Union. The former Senator suggested that, instead of participating in anti-gun protests such as Saturday’s March For Our Lives, children should take CPR classes.

“How about kids, instead of looking to someone else to solve their problem, do something about maybe taking CPR classes or trying to deal with situations where there is a violent shooter that you can actually respond to that,” Santorum said.

Appearing on CNN Monday, Parkland survivors Lauren and David Hogg ripped the former senator for his remark.

“I just think it’s completely absurd that he’s even thinking about teaching us CPR when with we’re having gun violence all across America and even in our schools,” Lauren Hogg said. “The fact that he’s saying CPR when my friends are dying on my floor and nothing is being done about it — he’s just using it as a distraction to get attention away from guns.”

“At the end of the day, if you take a bullet from an AR-15 to the head to no amount of CPR is going to save you because you’re dead,” David Hogg added.

During the segment, Camerota––a former Fox News host––accidentally referred to Santorum as “one of our Fox News contributors” and made sure to correct herself.
