Drama follows Ellen Pao wherever she goes, be it Reddit or the courtroom. She may not have won her gender discrimination case against venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, but she started a big conversation about the culture in Silicon Valley.
She’s written an essay about the sexism that permeates the tech mecca before, but now, it’s been confirmed that she’s going to write a whole book. Further, that book is going to be juicy because it can be. Here’s how our friends at the Mary Sue explained it:
Kleiner Perkins had offered to waive her legal fees if she had agreed to their settlement, which included a provision that would disallow her to talk about her experiences and the case. Pao didn’t take that deal. Now, she’s allowed to include whatever details she wants in her upcoming book.
The book will be titled Reset and come from Random House imprint Spiegel & Grau. It is said to be about the “toxic culture that pervades the tech industry.”
This announcement comes a month after she and other women in tech came together to create a nonprofit aimed at diversifying tech companies known as “Project Include.”
