‘Enough of Racism’: Ex-Miss USA Univision Co-Hosts Trash ‘Clown’ Donald Trump
The two co-hosts of Univision’s now-cancelled Miss USA simulcast took shots at Donald Trump in Instagram posts earlier today. Univision had entered into a deal with Trump’s Miss Universe Organization to cover the Miss USA pageant, with Roselyn Sanchez and Cristian de la Fuente as co-hosts.
But today, Univision severed ties to Trump over his comments about Mexican immigrant drug-smugglers and racists. And amid that controversy, both Sanchez and de la Fuente ripped Trump on Instagram.
In separate posts, they both made it clear they didn’t want to participate in any event connected to Trump, scolding his “disrespectful and hurtful words” and saying, “It’s a shame that such an important institution as #MISSUSA is now in the hands of a clown.”
You can see both Instagram posts here (Sanchez’s is a rough Google translation):
“As a LATINA proud of my roots, culture and everything q have contributed to this nation, I decided to cancel my participation as co host the Miss USA pageant. Not tolerate the so disrespectful and hurtful words out of the mouth of Mr. Trump. It seems incredible that in a speech to announce his candidacy has had that amount of intelligence and decency. Mexicans like all Latin brother if it contributes positively to this great nation. We are the force that keeps this country afloat. I was very excited and grateful for the opportunity to serve as co cheerleader of this great event in which many Latinas have shone, but more excited I have loyalty to my people. Enough of racism and people “influential” menospreciarnos.”
