Fox & Friends has tweeted a correction to its earlier coverage of a report on James Comey‘s memos.
In case you missed it, The Hill reported today “more than half of the memos” Comey wrote during the Trump administration “have been determined to contain classified information.”
Fox & Friends subsequently tweeted out the following:
Report accuses material James Comey leaked to a friend contained top secret information pic.twitter.com/Hkg4cAb6o9

President Trump retweeted that and then tweeted this:
James Comey leaked CLASSIFIED INFORMATION to the media. That is so illegal!

The Hill report did not mention top secret information, and the law professor Comey gave his memos to said today that he didn’t receive any memos marked classified.
A Fox News spokesperson told Mediaite the show would address the issue tomorrow morning, but tonight Fox & Friends tweeted out this correction:
Correction: Comey's memos did not have top secret info. The report says half were classified at secret or confidential level, not top secret
