Georgia Rep. Thanks Electors for ‘Standing Firm’ After Being Harassed

As electors gathered in Georgia today to cast their votes, Congressman Barry Loudermilk thanked them for “standing firm” in the face of harassment.

He talked to the electors about representing the voice of the people and said, “I am so sorry that many of you have gone through the harassment you have gone through.”

There have been reports across the country of electors getting harassed.

Things got so bad that Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp had to issue a statement a few weeks ago about the harassment:

“Our office has received numerous reports of individuals hurling insults and threats at Georgia’s electors because they are unsettled with America’s choice for President of the United States. This is absolutely unacceptable and those participating in or encouraging these efforts should stop.”
