Gretchen Carlson to Give First TV Interview Since Suing Roger Ailes This Friday
Gretchen Carlson‘s sexual harassment lawsuit against former head honcho of Fox News Roger Ailes was the first blow in a series that eventually felled the legend. She stayed relatively quiet as other women came forward, occasionally tweeting but not giving an eager public much else. All of that will change on Friday when her first televised interview will air.
ABC News’ 20/20 anchor Elizabeth Vargas and Good Morning America‘s Amy Robach got the honor of speaking to Carlson, who will focus on the harassment she has received throughout her entire career. She wrote about past incidents of sexual misconduct in her memoir but is set to address Ailes in the 20/20 interview, as well.
Carlson’s 13-year-old daughter Kaia will even speak to share why she believes her mom is a good role model for women.
The special will be called “Crossing Lines: Women and Men at Work” and will feature other experts like Wall Street trader Sam Polk and former human resources executive Cynthia Shapiro talking about their experiences with sexism in the workplace.
It airs Friday at 10:00 p.m. on ABC. As always, keep an eye on Mediaite for coverage and analysis throughout and after the special.
