Grumpy Cat Either Is or Is Not Worth $100 Million; We’ll Get Back to You

Grumpy Cat, one of the most durable of internet memes*, was reported Sunday by British rag the Daily Express to have earned 65 million pounds, or $100 million in U.S. Revolution victorcoin.

Grumpy Cat’s owner Tabatha Bundesen told the Express she was able to quit her Red Lobster job almost immediately after the cat went viral, and that the offers, including books and film, haven’t stopped since.

But, as with all stories originating in a British tabloid, the truth may be more complicated. No sooner did the Express‘ $100 million figure start to make the retweet rounds than Bundesen disputed it to the Huffington Post, calling it “completely inaccurate.” (Bundsen did not reveal how much the cat is worth.)

If she has a problem with $100 million figure, however, she might want to take it up with the cat’s manager*, as he appears to be its source.

*Kill me.
