Former Secretary of State and current presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton built on her body of work Tuesday by attacking presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump over the economy. Hillary talked about her own plans for the economy before launching into a blistering, if familiar, set of criticisms of Donald Trump’s economic plans, comments on economic matters, and failure to produce his tax returns. Then, she kicked off a long riff on Trump’s business record with a zinger that had the crowd roaring:
He’s written a lot of books about business. They all seem to end at Chapter Eleven.
While less entertaining, the rest of Clinton’s speech was no more merciful, as Hillary called Trump “dangerous” on the economy. and quipped that “Just like he shouldn’t have his finger on the button, he shouldn’t have his hands on our economy.
The economic speech follows a blistering foreign policy speech several weeks ago that was essentially the kickoff of Hillary’s general election campaign.
