Over the weekend, Spacey came under major scrutiny after Anthony Rapp claimed that the Academy Award-winning actor made a sexual advance on him when he was 14. Spacey responded with an apologetic statement where he claimed not to remember the encounter, and also came out as gay.
Spacey’s statement was criticized by many people who thought that his sexual orientation announcement was merely to distract from the claims about his past behavior. As a sign of potential fallout, Netflix announced today that House of Cards will end next season, and they are “troubled” by the allegations against Spacey.
