After John Boehner said “Fuck [Jason] Chaffetz” and called the ex-lawmaker an “asshole” in an epic, scorched earth Politico interview, the Fox News contributor said he is “disappointed” in the former House speaker.
“He dropped some F-bombs and used some other choice words. And then he says it’s not personal. Look, I harbor no personal animosity towards the speaker, quite frankly I’m a little surprised,” said Jason Chaffetz while appearing on Fox Business.
Boehner’s colorful language was inspired by reports that Congressman Trey Gowdy will become the House Oversight chairman — which was a title Chaffetz once had during his time in Congress.
“Gowdy – that’s my guy, even though he doesn’t know how to dress. Fuck [Rep. Jim] Jordan. Fuck Chaffetz. They’re both assholes,” said Boehner.
Chaffetz, who left Capitol Hill to join Fox News several months ago, continued his response to Boehner by saying:
“But I think things changed because when I became chairman, I think there is an expectation for leadership that you hand over your voting card and then you get in line and do everything that they want… And he lumped me in with Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, and Jim Jordan, and I guess if he’s going to lump in there I’d be happy to go there. But I was disappointed on a personal level.”
The conservative media talk show hosts referenced by Chaffetz were also lambasted by Boehner, as he suggested they are all “right-wing idiots.”
