John Kasich Literally Cried After The New York Times Endorsed Him
During a campaign stop in Salem, New Hampshire, Republican presidential candidate John Kasich told rally-goers that he actually broke down and cried after The New York Times and other papers endorsed him for president.
“I can’t believe it, I got seven out of eight New Hampshire papers to endorse me. Then I got The Boston Globe… then sir, yesterday, I got endorsed by The New York Times,” Kasich said.
“I want to tell you all, a couple days ago, I was in my room, and I thought about all of this and I cried,” he told voters.
“You know why? I can handle it, for sure,” he continued. “But something deep inside of me touched me. It’s amazing to come from where I came from and have these wonderful things said about me.”
“And rather than driving me up, it’s driven me to thank the Lord for what he’s done for me,” Kasich concluded.
