Judd Apatow Calls on FOX Stars to Condemn Trump Border Policy and His ‘Propaganda Arm’ Fox News

Director Judd Apatow is asking 21st Century Fox’s showrunners and talent to stand up to the company over Fox News’ coverage of the migrant family crisis at the U.S. southern border.

Apatow released a series of tweets on Monday, slamming Rupert Murdoch for promoting “evil ideas and greed and corruption” with his media empire’s coverage of President Trump and his administration’s separation of migrant children from their parents. Apatow conceded that he worked with Fox on his 2002 sitcom, Undeclared, but now, he’s calling on the media corporation’s most powerful figures to denounce the support and positive coverage Murdoch and the news division give to Trump’s policies.

Apatow’s call for action comes Seth MacFarlane bashed Tucker Carlson for telling viewers that the “mainstream media” is lying to America and cannot be trusted. The Family Guy creator denounced Carlson’s call for blind obedience to Fox, lamenting that it “makes me embarrassed to work for this company.”

Last night, Modern Family co-creator Steve Levitan joined with MacFarlane as he condemned Laura Ingraham for describing Trump’s child detention centers as “summer camp.”

Apatow saw this and is applauding Levitan for taking a stand against the Trump “propaganda arm.”
