Kelly Ripa Plans to Return to Live! and Anchor With Michael Strahan Until His Departure

Last week, the biggest news out of ABC was not that Michael Strahan is leaving Live!, but that Kelly Ripa hadn’t been made aware or included in any discussions. To show how she felt about this, Ripa didn’t show up for work after the announcement was made. She blew off her job on the morning show for the remainder of last week, in fact, which infuriated some and delighted others.

Ripa has decided to return to work, however, and sent the following email to her staff late last night:

Sorry for this late Friday night email. I wanted to thank you all for giving me the time to process this new information. Your kindness, support, and love has overwhelmed me. We are a family and I look forward to seeing you all on Tuesday morning. Love, Kelly

According to People, which found the email, Strahan and the executives at Live! have been confused about Ripa’s endgame. “They don’t know what she wants,” a source said before adding that Strahan has been reaching out to her because he wants her back.
