Limbaugh: Of Course Trump’s Not a Conservative, ‘Conservatism Lost in the Primary’
Rush Limbaugh finds it a bit tiresome that people keep complaining about Donald Trump not being a conservative, because it’s something he’s believed for a while now.
And it’s true, Limbaugh has said over the course of the election that Trump is more a populist than a conservative. He addressed the topic today of his analysis of Trump’s not-really-conservative childcare policy proposal.
Now, Limbaugh did say there are “conservative elements” to it, but he took note of caller reactions to him angrily saying this isn’t overall conservative.
“I don’t know how to tell you this,” he said. “Conservatism lost in the primary.”
He warned that if Republicans ever manage to nominate a conservative in the future, “you better be prepared for more hate and more opposition than you’ve ever seen.”
Limbaugh concluded with this aside, “I wish conservatism was on the ballot.”
