Lindsey Graham Erupts On Democrats For Making ‘Political’ Speeches During Ford Testimony: ‘I Feel Ambushed’
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) absolutely erupted during a press scrum following Christine Blasey Ford‘s testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee Thursday.
Speaking to reporters on Capitol Hill, the Senator blasted Democrats for not confronting Brett Kavanaugh with Ford’s sexual assault claim sooner.
“I’m really upset that they knew about this in August and never told anybody,” Graham said. “I’m really upset if [Sen.] Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) believed this was a credible allegation that she wouldn’t do Judge Kavanaugh the courtesy of saying, ‘I’ve got this, what’s your side of the story?’ Turn it over to the committee so we can have something not so close to the midterms.”
Graham then railed against the claim from Ford’s camp that they unaware Judiciary Committee members were willing to meet in California.
“When they say we weren’t sure if they were willing to go out there, that’s a bunch of bull,” he said. “I don’t know what they told Ms. Ford, but we were willing to go to California.”
The Senator went on to blast Democrats for making “a bunch of speeches” during Ford’s testimony for a “political purpose.”
“The friends on the other side set it up to be just the way it is,” Graham said. “I feel ambushed, as the majority.”
