Mashable Executives Auditing Finances In Preparation For CNN Acquisition

Executives at Mashable — Scottish entrepreneur Pete Cashmore‘s (shown at left living up to his name) popular news site covering social media, tech, mobile and related topics — have audited the site’s finances and sent them off to Turner, CNN’s parent company, in anticipation of an acquisition by the news network, Business Insider is reporting today:

This source also says Mashable executives have been holding meetings to discuss which Mashable divisions will be integrated into CNN and which will not be.

A second source close to Mashable confirms that executives have been working on a deal with CNN. This source speculates that the deal is 80% likely to close.

A deal is by no means set in stone and a price has yet to be disclosed. Although, as the report points out, Reuters’ Felix Salmon had previously floated $200 million as a possible amount.
