Saturday is a big day for sporting events: We’ve got the NFL Draft’s final day, the Kentucky Derby, and the much-hyped “Fight of the Century” between world champion boxers Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather, Jr.
Here’s a few quick facts you might want to know about trying to view the Saturday evening event:
What Time Does the Fight Begin?
The entire Mayweather vs. Pacquiao program starts at 6 p.m. ET (3 p.m. local), and the main event is expected to begin at 11 p.m. ET (8 p.m. local) on Saturday, May 2, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Keep in mind that boxing matches don’t typically start exactly on-time.
Where Can I Watch the Fight?
For those in the United States, the fight will be available as a pay-per-view program through either HBO or Showtime. The price ranges from $90 (standard definition) to $100 (high definition). The event is expected to shatter PPV records, with a probable 3.8 million buys.
Can I Watch It for Free Online?
Nope. Unless you know some interesting method that we most certainly don’t condone, there is no way to watch the event online for free. Did you really think the premium cable titans would be okay with people illegally streaming their highly-coveted, long-in-the-making boxing content?
That being said, there is one way to watch it for free: If you have a generous friend or neighbor who has purchased the PPV and invites you over to view.
BTW: Here’s a helpful guide to the ins and outs of the sporting event. Enjoy!
