Michelle Fields on CNN Hiring Lewandowski: Sad, ‘I Imagine CNN HR Will Be Busy This Year’

fields lewandowskiThe reporter who Corey Lewandowski infamously grabbed at a Donald Trump campaign event has a few thoughts on a cable network hiring him.

Yes, arguably the biggest cable news story of the day has been former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski being hired by CNN as a paid political commentator. Mediaite reported earlier that he was offered a job before his post-firing CNN interview this week, though a CNN spokesperson denied that took place.

Oh, and there was that time Lewandowski threatened one of CNN’s own reporters.

So The Daily Beast spoke with the one reporter arguably most associated with Lewandowski to date: Michelle Fields. The ex-Breitbart and current Huffington Post reporter had this reaction to CNN’s decision:

“I think it’s sad that a news network would hire someone who pushed one of their reporters and threatened them”…

Fields added: “My heart goes out to all his new female coworkers who will have to deal with him daily. I imagine CNN HR will be busy this year.”

You’ll recall that Fields had filed battery charges against Lewandowski, but he was not prosecuted. She ended up being harassed and threatened in the middle of all this.
