Mitt Romney: No Regrets About Criticizing Trump, But Seeing ‘Encouraging Signs’

Mitt Romney was in Salt Lake City yesterday to commemorate the 15th anniversary of the Winter Olympics there, and––of course––he was asked about politics.

Romney, you’ll remember, was talked about as a possible Secretary of State for President Trump before Rex Tillerson was chosen. When asked if he had any regrets about his criticism of Trump, Romney said no.

Per The Deseret News:

“I expressed honestly what my belief was with regards to temperament and character. Now the time has come for us to recognize we have a new president and we have hopes he will be successful leading our country.”

The former 2012 presidential nominee admitted there are “encouraging signs on a number of fronts” with the new administration.
