News Station Accidentally Shows Joe Piscopo While Trying to Honor Frank Sinatra Jr.
Yesterday, Frank Sinatra, Jr. died unexpected before a concert and the media and music worlds rushed to honor his life and legacy. In South Bend, Indiana, the staff at WNDU 16 did this by accidentally throwing up a photo of Joe Piscopo playing Sinatra’s father on SNL.
Granted, that is one way to honor the Sinatras, in general. After all, it speaks to how influential his family was, at least, that the patriarch was even impersonated on the popular sketch comedy series. Sadly, it is a not-so-great way to honor the recently-deceased child of a superstar, especially when that child was successful in his own right.
Mishaps like this are generally seen as being done in poor taste, even if it was all accidental, so WNDU probably won’t get out of this one without a little apology.
