Opie on Anthony Cumia Firing: ‘We’re in a Sh*tty Position’

Anthony Cumia may have been fired from The Opie & Anthony Show, but Gregg “Opie” Hughes and Jim Norton are still under contract, so the two of them had to go on the radio today, and obviously they dove right into the elephant in the room. And as Opie bluntly put it, “We’re in a shitty position.”

Neither he nor Norton felt comfortable about continuing the show without Cumia (Norton likened it to a three-way where the girl’s gone to the bathroom leaving the two guys lying their with their dicks out in awkward silence), but Opie explained, “We have no choice, we have to be here, we’re under contract.”

He said that for years, he knew that eventually something would happen to them that would blow things up, and when he read Cumia’s controversial tweets, his immediate reaction was “Oh my God, we’re fired.” Norton pointed out that the tweets may have been harsh, but “he did not do anything fucking violent” like punch the woman he angrily tweeted about.
