Plane Diverted over Passenger Listening to Loud Music, Invoking Ferguson

A Delta flight was diverted this week after a passenger complained about someone else listening to their music too loud and that passenger invoked Ferguson and said he was being profiled.

According to NBC News, a black passenger was listening to music and it was a little loud for the other people there, even with his headphones on.

When someone else complained and a flight attendant asked him to turn it down, he “made references to the recent Ferguson Missouri incident” and believed he was being “harassed” because of his skin color.

He went in and out of the bathroom several times, upset and crying, and the flight crew was so concerned they diverted the plane from its L.A. destination and landed in Albuquerque.

The man was not charged with anything, but was forced off the plane and ended up taking a later flight. Passengers who spoke to aviation police said he didn’t threaten anyone.
